Fine home décor from the Mart of Wal?
The news is out and so are the products. Walmart has launched “Hometrends,” a new collection of home décor and accents. Hometrends offers mix and match selections by room, with a leaning toward modern styling and more trendy materials, themes and colors.
Though the line is fashion-focused, the retailer in question is Walmart. Thus, the price is really the point. Starting costs range from $11 for rugs and $39.96 for bedding sets to $35 for dinnerware sets and $3 for placemats.
Walmart.com offers an interactive room decorator tool, and while online pricing is set, word is that Walmart stores will honor competitor’s pricing on identical items. So keep those Sunday circulars if you plan to check out Hometrends.

Why? You ask? If you take for example a purchased bath towel from Target, K-Mart or Target…The product is inferior. The actual bathsheet is thinner, the fabric may unravel and or ball-up. It looks great, but it doesn’t last. The quality is non existent. In a disposable society! My mother who has shopped her whole life knows quality from crap! Like my Mother says if you hit macy’s on one of their big “White Sales” you can get quality furniture, bedding etc. for less than what you would pay at the discount stores and it will last. But, in today’s market with all of the imports and it appears that marketing is the driving force and that quality is a thing of the past.
